<p><strong>Role Description:</strong></p> <p>• Assist students on an individual or group basis in specific learning areas and programs as directed by student PLPs and/or the class teacher</p> <p>• Maintain records of student observation and student progress</p> <p>• Help maintain a positive learning environment for students</p> <p>• Liaise with teachers in the first instance and the Learning Diversity Leader</p> <p>• Attend and participate in Parent Support Group meetings for funded students where appropriate</p> <p>• Attend to the first aid needs of students during break times as per the first aid duty roster</p> <p>• Adhere to school policies and procedures</p> <p>• Pursue and participate in professional learning: school based, systemic, regional and other sourced programs</p> <p>• Attend school ESO meetings (held within working hours)</p> <p>• Work collaboratively to support and contribute to the building of a professional learning culture</p> <p>The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the school’s Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement, ensuring that every student experiences equity and excellence in their learning.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Requirements</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>have knowledge and skills suited to working with students with diverse needs (recent experience and/or qualification in this area required) Pre-service teachers currently enrolled in an education course are also highly encouraged to apply.</li> <li>demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.</li> <li>be dedicated to catering for the individual needs of students in a school wide positive behaviour for learning environment.</li> <li>be committed to building authentic relationships with all children, families and staff.</li> <li>committed to upholding the St John XXIII Primary School Child Safety Policy, Code of Conduct and other policies relevant to Ministerial Order 870.</li> <li>Hold a current Working with Children Check and National Police Check</li> </ul> <p>This is a fixed term position until January 2027. Work hours are from 8.50 am to 1.45 pm - Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
