You’ll be joining a community that values collaboration, creativity, and a strong culture of professional growth.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>Brigidine College St Ives is seeking an exceptional Teacher Librarian to operate across three interconnected capacities: as a curriculum contributor, an information and educational technology specialist, and an information manager — partnering with staff across all key learning areas to embed information literacy and digital citizenship into the heart of our curriculum.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>This is a temporary part-time 12-month position with up to 0.8 FTE (negotiable)</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Heads of Department and classroom teachers to embed information literacy, research skills and digital citizenship across all subjects and year groups.</li> <li>Oversee the daily administration of library systems including Oliver Softlink, LibGuides and ClickView, maintaining collections to SCIS cataloguing standards.</li> <li>Promote and advise on educational technologies — including Microsoft Education products and Canvas (the College's LMS) — to enrich teaching and learning.</li> <li>Lead library events and community programs such as Book Week, author talks, book clubs and reading challenges.</li> <li>Implement academic integrity programs, including All My Own Work, Turnitin and Harvard referencing conventions.</li> <li>Teach engaging library-based lessons that build students' capacity to use information critically and ethically, including AI and web-based sources.</li> <li>Support students in independent and HSC research, guiding access to databases, primary sources and digital research tools.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate will have:</p> <ul> <li>ALIA-accredited postgraduate qualification in Teacher Librarianship (e.g. MEdTL or equivalent).</li> <li>Current NSW teacher accreditation (NESA) and a valid NSW Working with Children Check.</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of the NSW Curriculum and contemporary secondary teaching and learning practices.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience designing and delivering information literacy and research skills programs with measurable learning outcomes.</li> <li>Proficiency with Library Management Systems (Oliver, LibGuides) and familiarity with digital databases, eResources and emerging educational technologies.</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of Canvas, OneNote and Microsoft 365 products.</li> <li>Proven ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to integrate library programs into curriculum delivery.</li> <li>Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy school environment.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>How to apply</strong></p> <p>Please submit the following:</p> <ul> <li>A cover letter outlining your interest in the role and addressing the selection criteria.</li> <li>A current resume, including the names and contact details of three professional referees.</li> <li> <p>Applications should be emailed to The Principal at: <a href="mailto:<a href='mailto:employment@brigidine.nsw.edu.au?subject=Teacher%20Librarian%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29'>employment@brigidine.nsw.edu.au</a>?subject=Teacher%20Librarian%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29" rel="nofollow"></a><a href="mailto:employment@brigidine.nsw.edu.au?subject=Teacher%20Librarian%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">employment@brigidine.nsw.edu.au</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p></li> <li>A valid <strong>Working with Children Check</strong> is required prior to commencement.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>For further information, contact:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Leanne Miller</strong>, Head of Library Services | <a href="mailto:lmiller@brigidine.nsw.edu.au?subject=Teacher%20Librarian%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">lmiller@brigidine.nsw.edu.au</a></li> <li><strong>Edward Codsi</strong>, Director of Staff | <a href="mailto:ecodsi@brigidine.nsw.edu.au?subject=Teacher%20Librarian%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">ecodsi@brigidine.nsw.edu.au</a></li> <li>Phone: (02) 9988 6200</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Applications close Wednesday 6 May 2026</strong></p> <p>The College reserves the right to interview and appoint a suitable candidate prior to the closing date.
