We are seeking a permanent, full-time French Teacher from mid Term 2.

In recruiting new staff, we look for vibrant, dedicated, professional and capable individuals with initiative, empathy and a good sense of humour.</p> <p>As for our student-facing roles, Ascham teachers are responsible for the intellectual development and wellbeing of their students; and deliver excellence in developing and delivering academic programs through <i>The Dalton Plan. </i>The role also has a wellbeing component with teachers assigned a form class.</p> <p>We are seeking a French Teacher to deliver engaging and effective French language instruction to students in Years 7 to 12. The role requires a dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic educator who can foster a love of language learning, implement innovative teaching practices, and integrate cultural elements into lessons. The position holder will also collaborate with colleagues to support a whole-school approach to language acquisition and development.</p> <p>Commencing mid Term 2, 2026 this is a permanent full-time position.</p> <p><strong>What You Will Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Teach French to students in years 7 to 12, and according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) curriculum and Dalton principles of responsibility, independence, collaboration and reflection</li> <li>Write, implement and evaluate high-calibre French teaching programs and Dalton assignments ensuring the knowledge, understanding and success of each student</li> <li>Actively participate in the planning of curriculum, writing of programs and resources</li> <li>Use formative and summative assessments to determine student progress</li> <li>Submit marking, reports and academic results as required</li> <li>Monitor and report on the progress of all students</li> <li>Provide students with a rich cultural context including French-speaking countries’ traditions and customs</li> <li>Assess students’ language progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents</li> <li>Organise and participate in French-related cultural activities, excursions, holiday tours, incursions and language competitions</li> <li>Perform other duties as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Will Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>A degree in Education or related field, with a focus on French or Languages</li> <li>Enthusiasm for language and cultural education</li> <li>Accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to teach in NSW schools</li> <li>Strong understanding of the NSW Languages Syllabus</li> <li>Demonstrated experience teaching French to secondary students and up to HSC levels</li> <li>Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Ability to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team member</li> <li>Flexibility and adaptability in teaching methods</li> <li>Punctuality, professionalism and high levels of work reliability</li> <li>A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children</li> <li>A current First Aid / CPR Certificate and valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Interested?</strong></p> <p>Further information, including a position description for this role is available at https://www.ascham.nsw.edu.au/connecting/careers-at-ascham</p> <p>If this sounds like you, please <strong>apply via SEEK</strong> no later than <strong>11.59pm on Friday 13 March 2026</strong>.
