The College is seeking applications from suitably qualified, innovative and enthusiastic teachers who are able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education. The position is a 12 month Limited Tenure contract, covering a period of parental leave.

<p>St Brendan-Shaw College is a Catholic, co-educational secondary school located in Devonport catering for students from Years 7 to 12. The College is committed to creating a learning environment that fosters excellence, compassion and service in our students.</p> <p>The College is seeking applications from suitably qualified, innovative and enthusiastic English and History teachers who are able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education.</p> <p>Applications are open for those seeking a Full Time Limited Tenure contract to cover a 12 month period of Parental Leave. Commencement will be the start of Term 2, 2026, Monday 4 May 2026.</p> <p>Applicants will:</p> <ul> <li>Be committed to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education.</li> <li>Be able to articulate a commitment to learning and teaching</li> <li>Be willing to participate fully in the life of the school.</li> <li>Have appropriate graduate and/or post graduate qualifications.</li> <li>Be a registered Teacher in Tasmania or be able to gain registration prior to the commencement of the position.</li> </ul> <p>Parental Leave Employment is a period of employment for the purposes of replacing a current employee on Parental leave. It is subject to variation or change in the event that the employee taking Parental Leave exercises their right to return to work earlier than stipulated. In that instance you will be given a minimum of four (4) weeks notice of termination of the Parental Leave position.</p> <p>Catholic Education Tasmania supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment directed at ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
